Warriors Staff Member Holds Michael Jordan-like Respect for 4x NBA Champion Stephen Curry

Legend is a term that is thrown very loosely in today’s day and age. But one player that is truly deserving of that title is Stephen Curry. He was an unfancied point guard coming out of Davidson. He wasn’t tipped to change the game like he did in the coming years. His draft comparisons were JJ Reddick, Mike Bibby and Steve Kerr, all talented players but nowhere near Curry’s greatness.

Curry is also considered one of the most humble NBA players and one Warriors employee recounted a unique experience that he shared with the Warriors legend.

Stephen Curry: The Humble Star

Franco Finn, an NBA hype man recently made an appearance on the Stronger Together podcast hosted by Tonie Pua. Finn shared a story about Stephen Curry on the podcast “I just did an event with Steph Curry and you know what, first name basis. What’s up Franco? How are you doing? Like this is the greatest shooter on the planet, this is cool. But he is a nice guy”.

It is no secret that Stephen Curry is one of the most humble superstars in the NBA, on and off the court. He was the two time league MVP before Kevin Durant signed for the Warriors. He led the Warriors to an NBA title before Durant came. But when the Warriors signed Durant, Steph took the backseat and let Kevin Durant lead the team. Because that was in the best interest of the team, he could have easily created a fuss about the situation but he didn’t. And that is Steph’s legacy, that unselfish attitude is what made him great. After Durant left the Warriors, Curry led the Dubs to their 4th NBA title and, in the process winning one trophy that was missing from his CV: the Finals MVP.

“Michael Jordan of his Generation”

Michael Jordan is considered the greatest of all-time because he completely revolutionized basketball on and off the court. The same can be said about Stephen Curry. He completely changed how the game is played and while doing this, he won 2 MVPs and 4 NBA titles in the process. Stephen Curry also holds an accomplishment that not even Michael Jordan and LeBron James hold and that is the only Unanimous MVP.

Regardless of your stance in the GOAT debate, it’s undeniable that Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter in NBA history. And there are sections of basketball fans that think Stephen Curry is the GOAT and you might not have enough facts to discredit their viewpoints.
