SOUL OF THE PHOENIX: Liverpool set to ‘break the bank’ to secure deal for ‘game-changing’ striker

Liverpool under FSG isn’t known for spending a lot of money, but they’re thought to be willing to “break the bank” to get a forward who can change the game.

In nine months, Mo Salah will no longer be under contract at Anfield. He will be able to talk to other clubs in January, unless the Reds sign him to a new deal before then.

A former top scout for Manchester United told Football Insider that they think LFC will do that because the Egyptian is still very important to the team.

Mick Brown said, “I believe Liverpool will spend a lot of money to keep him.” He is the best left-footed player who plays on the right by a long shot. Liverpool is not the same without Mo Salah.

“In an instant, he can change the game.” They can get the ball to him when they’re having trouble, and he’ll make something happen. He’s really important to how the game goes.

“I believe they would do anything to keep him.” I’m sure they will do everything they can to get him to sign a new deal before they let him go to Saudi Arabia for free.

Capology says that Salah makes £350,000 a week, which is by far the most of any Liverpool player. That’s almost twice as much as their third-highest-paid player, Trent Alexander-Arnold, who makes £180,000 a week.

The Egyptian will turn 33 right before the end of his current deal in June, so it might not be a good idea to raise his pay even more. It doesn’t make sense for a football player in their mid-30s to be making a huge amount of money.

Of course, when it comes to the Reds’ number 11, there are no rules. Let’s talk about a guy who scores goals at Anfield maybe once every generation, if that often.

Salah’s performance will get worse over time, but it doesn’t look like it will happen soon. He has had a great start to the season, scoring five goals and setting up four others in eight games. This makes him Liverpool’s joint-top scorer and leading goal-scorer overall (Transfermarkt).

There are a lot of very good forwards that Arne Slot can choose from, but the Egyptian King is still the best, and he’s done more than enough recently and over time to deserve a new deal. If he wants to stay, LFC only needs to sign him to a longer term deal.
