The Grammy-nominated rapper accused Papoose’s girlfriend Claressa Shields of “putting out fake stories” to make her look bad

Remy Ma is airing some dirty laundry between her estranged husband Papoose and his new girlfriend.

The “Whuteva” rapper, 44, shared a series of scathing Instagram posts on Thursday, Dec. 12 slamming both Papoose, 46, and Olympic gold medalist boxer Claressa Shields, whom Remy accused of planting negative stories about her in the press.

On her Instagram Stories, Remy claimed Shields, 29, put “out fake stories” about her “to make me look bad and [make Papoose] look like gods gift for too long” — while Papoose responded by calling his ex a “narcissist.”

Remy wrote that she asked Papoose to issue some sort of statement to counter the stories, but he encouraged her to stay quiet, so she took matters into her own hands and put Shields on blast, sharing private text messages she allegedly sent to Papoose.

“I BEGGED @papoose to put out something to stop the narrative and he kept telling me just stay quiet that that’s the best thing to do…,” Remy wrote. “Don’t worry I saw EVERYTHING now the world gonna see it since u so tough boo.”

Remy and Papoose, who starred together on the VH1 reality series Love & Hip Hop: New York, said “I do” over the phone while Remy was incarcerated in 2008, and made their union official in 2016. They share a 5-year-old daughter named Reminisce.

In an Instagram post of his own, Papoose accused Remy of being a “narcissist,” and said he’d repeatedly asked for a divorce. Shields, meanwhile, encouraged the Grammy nominee to “stop lying.”

In the first of a series of alleged text messages between Shields and Papoose posted by Remy, Shields expresses frustration with Papoose for not spending time with her “in person” and failing to let her know he’d made it home safe.

“Nowwww I’m telling everything ohhhh and babygirl u not the only one🤷🏾‍♀️,” Remy captioned her post.

In another conversation, Shields seemingly warned Papoose about clearing things up with Remy ahead of the Christmas Day release of The Fire Inside, an upcoming sports biopic about Shields training for the 2012 London Olympics.

“I know you hate the internet games but you need to do something today about this girl, my PR team gonna freak out when they see this,” Shields allegedly wrote, seemingly referring to Remy. “I can’t be up here exposing her etc before Dec 25th the movie coming out… I’m not worried about nothing she say or put in her story.”

In her caption, Remy called Papoose a “f*ckin Dummy,” accused him of “plotting…to destroy me” and threatening to leak photos or videos of a sexual nature.

A third screenshot of Shields’ alleged texts featured the athlete telling Papoose she was “not happy” but would “just stop,” as she didn’t want to stress him out. Shields then went on to lament the apparent dynamic of their relationship, saying his actions made her feel “stupid.”

“Hey Ms. Shields, I am a ONE boyfriend woman, the same way I was a ONE husband woman,” Remy wrote in her caption. “And I’m a good woman at that.Hence why mfs won’t just go. Oh & He’s never gonna buy you anything cuz he thinks HE’S the prize 😂he’s a taker not a giver. Plus I’m the one with the bag lol. Please, stop playing with me cuz I’m not the enemy you want. I am not even mad actually I’m very happy- and that’s why your boyfriend is mad. Oh and I know you said you feel stupid but you look stupid too😂💋-”

Remy then shared a series of friendly Instagram DMs between her and Shields, including the athlete wishing her a happy New Year’s.

Shields eventually responded with an Instagram Story of her own that featured a screenshot of Remy congratulating her in 2020, seemingly after she won a unanimous decision over Ivana Habazin.

“@remyma you was a fan of me! Stop lying,” Shields wrote.

Papoose, meanwhile, posted a lengthy statement to Instagram, too, accusing Remy of cheating while they were together and “playing the victim” now that he’s moved on from their relationship.

“Sad to say that @remyma is a narcissist. She chose to cheat repeatedly. Now that I finally moved on, she’s playing the victim. I have requested a divorce numerous times,” he wrote. “She rather clout chase on social media. Than handle this like civilized adults. I did not wanna do the social media foolishness. For the sake of my 6 year old baby. She has to go to school. As you can see I remained quiet through this all.”

He also shared a photo of Remy with another man in front of a Christmas tree in a since-deleted post, writing that that’s how she spent last Christmas while he was with their daughter. Papoose seemingly alleged that he’d punched Remy’s new man, and Remy refused to divorce him because Papoose wouldn’t lie about the fight.

“Now that I FINALLY moved on she’s angry & making up lies. #Narcissist I told her we could divorce like adults. She refuses to do that because I wouldn’t lie & say I didn’t knock this chump out,” he wrote. “I didn’t knock him out because he slept with my wife. I knocked him out because he shook my hand. And then slept with my Wife.”

Remy previously shut down rumors that she’d cheated on Papoose in an Instagram Live in October.
